Each spring, students participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), which is California’s statewide testing system. The English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science (CAST) tests provide information for teachers, parents/guardians, and students about students’ progress and readiness for college and careers. Students in grades three through eight participate in the online ELA and Mathematics testing. Students in grades five and eight will also participate in online science test (CAST).
As testing approaches, here are some ways to help support your child at home: · Encourage your child to get plenty of sleep each night · Provide a healthy breakfast each morning · Ensure that your child is present during testing and arrives at school on time · Give positive encouragement and remind your child to do his or her best
The school testing window will run from April 16th through May 4th. The testing blocks will take place between 8:45 am and 11:59 am. Please schedule appointments around these dates and times so that students may be present for testing.
